Circular, bronze medal with the image of Colgate W. Darden, former President of the University of Virginia and Chancellor of Mary Washington College (1947-1959). Established in 1960, this award is presented to the graduating senior with the highest overall academic average. Chancellor Darden was a key figure in the administrative merger of the institution with the University of Virginia in 1944.
