About

The University of Mary Washington's Archives serves as the repository for archival and historical materials for all offices, departments, and divisions of the University, including artifacts.

One of the main purposes of this digital archive is to provide information, history, and images of significant items safeguarded in the university's Special Collections and University Archives Department. Faculty, students, and patrons may view items during the department's open hours or by special appointment. For contact information and hours please see the library's website.

Credits Information: William B. Crawley's book, " University of Mary Washington, A Centennial History, 1908-2008," was extremely helpful in providing information and text for many of the items presented in this collection. Dr. Crawley joined the history faculty of the University of Mary Washington (then the Mary Washington College of the University of Virginia) in 1970 and in addition to teaching, held several administrative positions at Mary Washington.
